Secure, Clean and Efficiency Energy: new calls for proposals are open
EU funding opportunities 31 January 2018On 25 January 2018 the new call for Horizon 2020 Energy Efficiency project proposals has opened. With a budget of over €212M for 2018 and 2019, the Secure, Clean and Efficient Energy topics offer plenty of opportunities for innovative project proposals to receive funding.
The Horizon 2020 Energy Efficiency call 2018-2020 provides support for innovation through:
- Research and demonstration of more energy-efficient technologies and solutions;
- Market uptake measures to remove market and governance barriers by addressing financing, regulations and the improvement of skills and knowledge.
Proposals can be submitted on the following six areas of funding:
- Buildings

LC-SC3-EE-5-2018-2019-2020: Next-generation of Energy Performance Assessment and Certification
- Industry, products and services
LC-SC3-EE-6-2018-2019-2020: Business case for industrial waste heat/cold recovery
LC-SC3-EE-8-2018-2019: Capacity building programmes to support implementation of energy audits
- Public Authorities
LC-SC3-EE-15-2018: New energy label driving and boosting innovation in products energy efficiency
LC-SC3-EE-16-2018-2019-2020: Supporting public authorities to implement the Energy Union
- Consumers
LC-SC3-EC-2-2018-2019-2020: Mitigating household energy poverty
- Finance
LC-SC3-EE-9-2018-2019: Innovative financing for energy efficiency investments
LC-SC3-EE-10-2018-2019-2020: Mainstreaming energy efficiency finance
LC-SC3-EE-11-2018-2019-2020: Aggregation – Project Development Assistance
Calls features different type of actions, which correspond a EU funding rate:
For Research and Innovation Action (RIA) and Coordination and Support Action (CSA) the funding rate is 100%; Innovation Action (IA) the contribution is 70% of eligible costs.
The deadline for submitting proposals is on the 4 September 2018.
