New calls for proposals published

On January 30th new calls for proposals have been published: Rights, Equality and Citizenship Programme 2014-2020. This programme contributes to the further development in equality and rights of persons, as enshrined in the European Treaty, in the Charter and in international human rights conventions.

Its nine specific objectives are aimed at:

  • Promoting non–discrimination;
  • Combating racism, xenophobia, homophobia and other forms of intolerance;
  • Promoting rights of persons with disabilities;
  • Promoting equality between women and men and gender mainstreaming;
  • Preventing violence against children, young people, women and other groups at risk (Daphne);
  • Promoting the rights of the child;
  • Ensuring the highest level of data protection;
  • Promoting the rights deriving from Union citizenship;
  • Enforcing consumer rights.

 

The calls currently opened and the forthcoming ones are mentioned below:

REC-RCIT-CITI-AG-2018Improve the inclusion of mobile EU citizens and their political and societal participation, in order to support and enhance the democratic participation of mobile EU citizens. Particularly those in under–represented groups.
Deadline: 26 April 2018

REC-RCHI-PROF-AG-2018: Capacity–building in the area of child’s rights, putting in place robust national or regional integrated mechanisms to support children ageing out of/leaving alternative care.
Deadline: 31 May 2018

REC-RDAP-GBV-AG-2018: Prevent and combat gender–based violence and violence against children.
Planned opening: 8 March 2018
Deadline: 13 November 2018

REC-RGEN-WWLB-AG-2018: Equal participation of women and men in public fora, in leadership positions in politics and in the corporate sector. Support public authorities and civil society in relation with the “New Start to Support Work–Life Balance for Parents and Careers” initiative.

REC-RRAC-HATE-AG-2018: Public authorities on preventing and combating racism, xenophobia and other forms of intolerance, and in particular hate crime and hate speech.
Planned opening: 25 April 2018
Deadline: 27 September 2018

REC-RRAC-ONLINE-AG-2018: Monitor, prevent and counter hate speech online.
Planned opening: 25 April 2018
Deadline: 11 October 2018

REC-RRAC-RACI-AG-2018: Prevent and combat racism, xenophobia and other forms of intolerance.
Planned opening: 25 April 2018
Deadline: 4 October 2018

REC-RDIS-DISC-AG-2018: Support national or transnational projects on non–discrimination and Roma integration.
Planned opening: 17 May 2018
Deadline: 9 October 2018

REC-RDIS-NRCP-AG-2018: Support National Roma platforms.
Planned opening: 12 June 2018
Deadline: 8 November 2018

 

Types of actions funded

  • Training activities (staff exchanges, workshops, development of training modules, …);
  • Mutual learning, cooperation activities, exchange of good practices, peer reviews, development of ICT tools;
  • Awareness–raising activities, dissemination, conferences;
  • Support for main actors (key European NGOs and networks, Member States’ authorities implementing Union law, …)
  • Analytical activities (studies, data collection, development of common methodologies, indicators, surveys, preparation of guides, …)

 

Participating countries

All Member States, Iceland (all specific objectives) and Liechtenstein (only for non–discrimination, racism, xenophobia, rights of persons with disabilities and equality between women and men).

Budget 2014-2020
The overall budget is EUR 439 million.
