European Entrepreneurial Region (EER) Award 2021-2022 Call for applications
EU funding opportunities 23 May 2020The European Committee of the Regions (CoR) invites EU territories to submit their applications for the merged 2021 and 2022 edition of the European Entrepreneurial Region (EER) Award. The EER label is open to all EU territories below the level of the Member State that are endowed with competences at a political level and able to implement an overall entrepreneurial vision, regardless of their size, wealth or specific competences.
The theme of the EER 2021-2022 call is Entrepreneurship for a sustainable recovery.
Applications are open to all EU territories of Member States, including communities and cities’ as well as cross-border territories with legal personality such as EGTCs and Euroregions.
The application shall demonstrate a future-oriented political vision for implementing the EU SME Strategy in their territory, focusing on the principles of related EU policy initiatives, such as the Small Business Act (SBA). Also, the application shall show the commitment of the territory to implement its political vision taking account of the rapidly changing economic landscape and key megatrends, for example the Covid-19 crisis.
The prize will be awarded to a maximum of six local authorities that will be able to exhibit the EER label for a period of two years (2021 and 2022), to give the opportunity to plan strategies for a successful economic and social recovery.
