Editorial 6 November 2022Far from being the sturdy and cohesive block most want it to be, the European Union remains composed of 27 Member States with 27 corresponding External Affairs ministries and cabinets which handle each State’s relation with both co-Member States of the EU and non-EU Countries. This overlapping of European and National prerogatives often creates dissonances, inconsistencies and every so often hinders effective EU External policy responses.
