EU funding opportunities

The Regiostars Awards 2017 has been launched!

The objective of RegioStars is to identify good practice in regional development and to highlight original and innovative projects or support schemes that could be an inspiration to other regions.

There are five RegioStars Award categories for 2017:

 

  1. Smart Specialisation for SME innovation
  2. Energy Union: Climate action
  3. Women Empowerment and Active Participation
  4. Education and training
  5. CityStars: Cities in Digital Transition

Who can apply

Project managers (public or private) from all European regions can apply, if their project has received support from the European Regional Development Fund, the Cohesion Fund, the European Social Fund or the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA) either under a 2007-2013 or 2014-2020 operational programme. Also projects and initiatives that combine ERDF or Cohesion Fund with the other ESI Funds (ESF or EMFF or EAFRD) with directly managed EU funds (e.g. Horizon 2020, LIFE, COSME, CEF, EaSI, etc.) or with EFSI7 are welcome.

 

Applications must be submitted by:

  • the relevant Managing Authority,
  • or by the project manager with the endorsement of the relevant Managing Authority.

 

Each managing authority may submit or give its endorsement to maximum one application per category.

 

Eligibility criteria

In order to be eligible:

  • The project has been cofinanced, after 1 January 2008
  • The project description must be clearly related to the selected category.
  • It is finalised or sufficiently advanced, thus it can demonstrate progress in the achievement of the original objectives.
  • The project has not been proposed for a RegioStars Award before.

Deadline

Applications should be submitted through the online form, no later than 10th of April 2017.

RegioStars award ceremony will take place on Tuesday, October 10, during the 2017 European Week of Regions and Cities.
