2023 Call for Cross-Border Renewable Energy (CB RES) projects
EU funding opportunities 27 January 2023Estimated time of reading: 1 minute
Under the Connecting Europe Facility 2021-2027-Energy, an open call has been launched to support l cross-border renewable energy projects (CB RES) between EU Member States, or between Member States and third countries in order to achieve decarbonisation targets by optimising national renewable energy deployment efforts and increasing the security of energy supply.
After the one supporting preparatory studies for this type of projects, this call targets applications aimed at obtaining the status of cross-border renewable energy projects (CB RES status) and then enter a list of projects eligible for funding (CB RES list). Entering this list allows not only to benefit from financial support for studies and work under the programme, but also enjoying greater visibility towards investors and more support from EU countries.
The call also covers projects facilitating the integration of renewable energy sources through energy storage facilities and contribute both to the strategic uptake of innovative renewable technologies and to the EU’s long-term decarbonisation strategy.
Promoters of projects applying for the status of CB RES can submit their application through the dedicated platform (Participant Portal) by 3 May 2023.
The list of CB RES projects is expected to be adopted in autumn 2023.
